Are you looking for a part-time job that will help you develop coaching and management skills? Become a social mentor.
University life is more than just following courses. It’s also about being a part of a community and making the best of your student life. In order to help the new econometrics/actuarial science students connect with their fellow students, we are looking for social mentors. By becoming a social mentor, you can transfer all the knowledge you have to the first-year students and help them have a great experience.
What is a social mentor?
As a social mentor, you will be responsible for meeting with your mentees on a regular basis in order to track their wellbeing and discuss relevant topics to help them through the first year.
What is in it for me?
Becoming a social mentor can prepare you for your future career. As a social mentor, you will get the opportunity to follow a number of professional training sessions on intercultural competences, how to connect with people, solve conflicts or develop your coaching skills for free. Moreover, all social mentors get reimbursed for the hours they work weekly during blocks 1 and 2 of the upcoming academic year. Besides, if you want you can get a letter of recommendation signed by the program director.
How can I apply?
• Note: all social mentors must be available on campus for a minimum of 2 hours/week from 1 September.
• You can apply for the position by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for this is the 1st of August.
Important note: In the week of 17 August the online training sessions will be held. Next to that, you should be available the 24th of August for the kick-off to meet your group.
