The Experience 2022

Are you currently in the second/third year of your Bachelor or in your Master and are you still not sure where or in which sector you want to work after you’ve completed your studies? You are definitely not alone, there are many students facing this problem. So, no worries, we are here to rescue you!

 The Experience is a career event aiming to let students experience the atmosphere at a selection of companies. This year, in April, we’ll visit five companies in five days and each company will represent a different field of Econometrics and Actuarial Science. This is a great way to get to know the different companies, sectors and experience what it is like to work there.

• During the inhouse days you will be able to earn points and great prizes will be awarded to the participants with the most points! The prices will be anounced in a couple weeks, so look out for that.

All Options: 
All Options is a derivatives trading company established in 1998. We are a market maker firm with a major presence on European and growing presence on non-European equity derivatives markets, specialized in trading options of listed financial instruments. House of Bèta:
House of Bèta is specialised in secondment, training and development of the bèta’s market. The units Actuarial and Business IT of a development company called Talent&Pro were merged in 2019 to form the independent label, House of Bèta. This was done to exclusively provide clients with ambitious professionals for technical cases/problems. These specialists were already active within financial services, subcontracted by Talent&Pro. Our data- and business IT-specialists are now also active within the government, telecom and energy sector to provide clients in the increasing demand for digitally experienced professionals. These are professionals who are capable of supporting organisations with challenges surrounding (big) data-analysis, IT and automatisation. Smart bèta’s who can handle the complex, quantitative and analytical work that is needed to improve the relation between humans and processes, systems and information. With business locations in the heart of the Netherlands (Utrecht) and close to the tech hubs (Delft and Eindhoven), House of Bèta is in thé places to be when looking for new talent. After we find a new talent, we recruit and prepare them for the labour market of the future.  As a starter at House of Bèta, you will first complete an orientation phase, in which you will work at our clients, develop working experience, discover what it is like to work at an organisation and in which way you can contribute best as a data or business IT-specialist. Through a wide variety of trainings you will form the foundation for the rest of your development within your specialisation. This foundation will be extended after two years in the so-called specialisation phase. From a student you will now become a starter. From being a starter you will further become a (junior) specialist. And from specialist you will become a principal consultant.

ENDYMION Amsterdam:

Endymion Amsterdam is an accountancy firm, founded in 2015. We are located at the Beurs of Berlage on the Damrak in Amsterdam and serve financial institutions and other related entities. Some examples are:

- Proprietary Traders
- Equity Capital Markets (ECM) listed companies
- Real Estate

Characteristics of these organisations are, that there is a relatively large group of stakeholders, such as external financial shareholders, The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and/or “De Nederlandsche Bank” (DNB). All our professionals are chartered accountants (in training). We are from Amsterdam, independent and modern. This last point is expressed, mainly since ENDYMION Amsterdam was founded as a modern cooperation. Next to that it is important to us that we are socially involved. E.g., we are partnered with Natura Artis Magistra, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (ITA), NedPho, Nationale Opera & Ballet, football team CTO’70, contemporary Amsterdam artiest Dave Dekker and others.

On the case:
“Contemporary Public Audit in the FinTech District Amsterdam”. Based on a famous FinTech corporation, we will walk through diverse topics such as (recognising the risks in terms of) Fraud, Digitalisation, Continuity and Sustainability. The structure of the company (Design), the quality of responsibility (Transparency), and the way in which (external) trust can be provided. We will also discuss the diverse roles and responsibilities in the line of work of accountants, advisors and supervisors.
